Who IS Jesus?

WHAT DOES GOD WANT ME TO DO?
HOW DO I PRAY?

That’s the most important question in the world. Some people try to put Jesus in the category of “great teacher” but He really didn’t leave that as an option. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. He said things like, “I am the only way to get to God.” (John 14:6) No person who was just a “great teacher” could make such a claim because he’d be lying and that kind of spoils the whole “great teacher” thing.

We believe Jesus is God’s Son and that He came to rescue all of us from sin. So, what does that mean to you and me? God wants a response from us.

I know this certainly can’t answer all your questions about God and who Jesus is. But it’s a good start. If you’re looking for answers, we hope you will come to The Gathering. It’s a safe place for your questions and a good place for you to meet Jesus for yourself.

What does God want me to do?

1. Admit that God has not been first place in my life.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from every wrong.”
1 John 1:9

2. Acknowledge that Jesus died to pay for your sins and came back to life.
“If you confess that Jesus is your Lord, and you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

3. Accept God’s free gift of salvation. Don’t try to earn it.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

4. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and be the director (Lord) of your life.

“To all who receive Him, He gives the right to become children of God. All we need to do is trust Him to save us.” John 1:12

How do I Pray?
Just say something like this to God.
“Dear God, thank You for caring for me. I don’ understand this whole process but I know I need You in my life. As much as I know how, I ask You Jesus to be the leader of my life. I believe You died for me. Thank You. Please help me believe even more. Amen”
